Life Cycle
- The male and females mate.
- Females lay 6 to 10 eggs in a hole. The eggs will stay in the nest all winter long. They will hatch, but not leave the nest until spring.
- Spring arrives and the baby turtles come out of the nest.
- They will eat meat and grow to adult size in 8 to 9 years.
- The turtle will die or mate and the cycle starts all over.
